About Our Founder and Chief Storyteller
For more than 30 years, Rajesh Mirchandani has helped nonprofits, executives, foundations and public media harness the power and passion of storytelling.
Rajesh specializes in crafting narratives, distilling complex policies and processes, unearthing human stories that bring strategy to life, and advising leaders from C-suite to community center on how to hone their authentic story with empathy and punch.
In a career spanning continents, sectors and social issues, Rajesh has seen how authentic, human stories build vision, inspire action and drive impact. This belief fuels his work now.
As a BBC news foreign correspondent and anchor, Rajesh covered global stories from two U.S. Presidential elections, the Great Recession, Haiti earthquake and climate-fueled natural disasters to cultural moments like the Academy Awards and the death of Michael Jackson. As a TV and radio personality, he hosted popular travel, science, music and cooking shows.
At Feeding America, he grew the agency and advocacy capacity of people experiencing hunger and established their voices as central to organizational strategy; and he developed strategies that increased donor engagement and led the Hollywood Reporter to name Feeding America as Philanthropy of the Year.
At the UN Foundation, he designed award winning campaigns including the COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund that raised more than $200m in six weeks for global pandemic response. At the Center for Global Development, he increased engagement through innovative multichannel content strategies that distilled complex research to engage broader audiences.
As an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California in 2013, Rajesh created and taught a class in International Broadcasting and Public Diplomacy as part of the Masters in Public Diplomacy program at the Annenberg School. He graduated from the same program the year before. He was also awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Cardiff Journalism School, and a BSc in Economics from Bristol University.
Rajesh is also the creator and host of Finding Our Flavor, a five-star rated podcast about food and identity, and is a regular storytelling performer including at The Moth and DC Fringe Festival.
